Position Description 

Sigma Technology Partner is actively seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Business Development Associate to drive our sales efforts and spearhead the growth of our cybersecurity, IT Audit and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) practice. We are looking for an individual who possesses the energy, enthusiasm, and strategic mindset necessary to explore new sales opportunities and expand our business ventures. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing our presence in these key areas and contribute to the overall success and expansion of Sigma Technology Partner. 

Identifying and Prospecting New Opportunities: The Business Development Associate is responsible for researching and identifying potential business opportunities, target markets, and clients. This involves conducting market analysis, lead generation, and identifying strategic partnerships or collaborations. 

Building and Maintaining Relationships: Developing and nurturing relationships with clients, customers, partners, and other stakeholders is a critical aspect of the role. This includes networking, attending industry events, and engaging in effective communication to build rapport and trust. 

Proposal Development and Presentations: The Business Development Associate prepares and presents proposals, presentations, and pitches to potential clients or partners. This involves articulating the organization’s value proposition, understanding client needs, and tailoring proposals to meet specific requirements. 

Negotiating Contracts and Agreements: Negotiating favorable terms, conditions, and contracts with clients, partners, and vendors is an essential responsibility. This includes pricing, payment terms, service-level agreements (SLAs), and other contractual terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements. 

Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Staying updated on market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape is crucial. The Business Development Manager conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, assess market positioning, and make informed strategic decisions. 

Collaboration with Internal Teams: Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the organization is vital to align business development efforts with the overall business strategy. This involves working closely with sales, technical teams, and other teams to ensure a coordinated and effective approach. 

Meeting Sales and Revenue Targets: The Business Development Associate is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals set by the organization. This may involve creating sales forecasts, tracking progress, and implementing strategies to achieve desired outcomes. 

Maintaining Reporting: Keeping accurate records of business development activities, client interactions, and sales pipeline is important; Provides regular updates to management. 

Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Staying updated with industry trends, market dynamics, and evolving business practices is essential. The Business Development Associate actively engages in professional development, attends relevant workshops or conferences, and seeks opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills. 

Required qualifications to be successful in this role: 

  • Bachelors in marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, or Business is preferred. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Client Relations, or Customer service. 
  • Prior IT and preferably cybersecurity experience 
  • Goal-oriented with the ambition to exceed goals and expectations. 
  • Organization and effective time management skills. 
  • Strong passion and ability to positively influence, educate and connect with others. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed. 
  • Creative, confident, and exceptional public speaking abilities. 
  • Passion for people and developing sales relationships.
